Several years ago, the owners at Healthy MAX Durham found themselves at a cross-road. They wanted to pursue a healthier, active lifestyle but the existing calorie-ridden, low-quality snack options just wouldn't cut it anymore. That's why we're bringing our healthy vending solution to businesses in the community.
Healthy MAX Durham (HMD) was established in 2015 to bring healthy snack and drink options to our community through our vending machines. Our founders saw the opportunity to take advantage of the healthy living revolution and meet a need that had thus far been overlooked. With more than 60 years’ combined experience serving the community, we were confident of the demand for the service and products we provide. Our inaugural venture was with the Durham Family YMCA in June 2015, and we have experienced continued growth since that time.

HMD’s goal is to get Canadians to feel good about their snack and beverage choices, knowing that by choosing healthy options from an HMD machine they are benefiting themselves physically, and their local YMCA financially. Through its partnership, the YMCA of Greater Toronto has entrusted Healthy MAX Durham to have healthy snack & drink options readily available and accessible, which conform with the YMCA’s strategic plan/vision and creates the optimal environment for reinforcing positive food-related behaviour. HMD has been working with the YMCA since our inception and we have a proven track record, meeting the specific and diverse needs of the locations we service. We pride ourselves on customer service excellence as demonstrated by the working relationships we have developed.
HMD is committed to providing completely customizable healthy vending solutions. Our machines offer healthy snack and drink options to our customers. At HMD, our goal is to educate and inform, promote a healthy lifestyle and support the health and wellness revolution.
Today, there is increasing evidence that true and lasting behaviour change is best achieved when education is also paired with an environment that supports healthy choices. Furthermore, it has been well documented that one of the biggest obstacles to making wise snack choices is the availability of healthy options.
